What do you believe about your body?

belief reframe your thoughts Mar 20, 2022

“It’s hard for me to lose weight.”

“I don’t have time to take care of myself.”

“After menopause, everything’s changed, and I don’t know what to do.”

“Nothing I’ve tried works for me.”

“I can’t even get enough sleep, how can I worry about anything else?”

Some of us repeat these ideas to ourselves over and over again.

Ideas repeated over and over become our belief system -- we start to think that’s just the way it is for us.

But what if I told you that believing any of these ideas (or the ones that you focus on most often) is optional?

Yep.

Who would you be without that belief?

When I work with clients, some of the most powerful work we do is dismantling the walls of beliefs we have in our heads about what’s possible for us.

We look at our default thought patterns -- our programming, if you will -- and see what’s happening.

If you’ve ever wanted to drop a few pounds, it’s really easy to find our minds focusing on our weight first.

For some of us, it’s a constant distraction.

We look in the mirror as we’re getting dressed, our unconscious mind shoots some darts (negative thoughts) at our reflection and our negative thinking ignites in our brains before we even start our day.

The process of looking at our thinking is where we need to start to make lasting change.

It’s the reason we lose weight and put it back on soon after -- because we work on symptoms like what’s on our plate or how much we’re moving --  but never the cause of *why* we’re overeating.

And, honestly, the lightness we feel from losing the mental weight can be even more impactful than the physical weight.
