Want to make weight loss inevitable?

commitment consistency Jun 19, 2022

One of my goals as a life and weight loss coach is to help my clients make weight loss inevitable.

How?

By helping them become women who take the steps – that they choose – that result in consistent weight loss.

Together, we look at their goals and we design steps that they’re willing to commit to.

We look at how to make those steps a little easier each week, and how to address the doubts that might come up along the way.

We gather data – how many times did you do what you said you’d do? We’re not looking for perfection – but we’re moving towards making the choices we say we want more often than not as we build our consistency muscle.

It’s the same process that I used to lose and keep 60 pounds off for nearly 5 years.

Sustainable weight loss boils down to behaving like the woman you want to be now.

  • Want to be someone who eats a variety of whole foods? Start now by introducing a new whole food each week. In 6 months weeks, you’ll be that woman.

  • Want to be someone who’s comfortable with sweet and savory snack foods in her house? Start now by having a few of those foods in the house. A first step might be having individual servings sizes of chips or ice cream around. When you learn that all food is ok and available to you, your desire starts to shift and you can choose to have more (like having several flavors of ice cream around) or less around (because your desire changes).

  • Want to be someone who eats when she’s hungry, and stops eating when she’s satisfied? Start practicing now.

  • Want to be someone who trusts herself to order anything off a restaurant menu and can eat it until satisfied? Start practicing now. Decide ahead of time that you’ll eat half your meal and then reassess if you want more. Take small steps and with practice, your self-trust grows.

  • Want to exercise regularly? Start practicing now by choosing a small, doable amount of movement that you enjoy (kitchen dance party, anyone?). Add to it as you choose.

Weight loss becomes inevitable when we choose simple habits that we’re willing to keep doing, and we practice them until they feel easy.
