About Me
I’m a certified life + weight loss coach who helps smart women like you end their struggle to lose weight. I help my clients put what they’ve learned through traditional diets aside, and focus on simple, sustainable strategies to lose weight and keep it off.
I spent my childhood and most of my adult life overweight, and have pretty much tried all the liquid fasts, meal replacement diets, and commercial programs out there.
I was in a medical weight loss program as a teen, joined Jenny Craig as soon as I turned 18, and was a serial weight watchers member for nearly a decade.
Constant dieting left me with an obsessive focus on food -- on what was good or bad or allowed or not.
What I learned from most diet programs was to follow their rules, to beat myself up when I messed up. I ended up feeling like I’d never lose weight if I couldn’t do it their way.
Willpower only carried me so far, and when I couldn’t stick to those programs any longer, I’d end up doubting myself....feeling like something was wrong with me
Then, I discovered a different way…
I started working with a life coach who helped me see that losing weight was about more than what I was eating. Sure, what I ate mattered, but what mattered more was how I was thinking.
It was my thinking that contributed to a lot of my overwhelm and frustration that contributed to my stress eating.
Once I learned to handle my emotions in a different way -- it was like I had a whole new set of tools to lose weight.
I let go of the idea that weight loss was only possible through restrictive food plans and exercising constantly.
Instead, I learned to work on my relationship with myself -- I learned to tame that inner mean girl and started caring for myself as well as I cared for others in my life.
As I learned to take better care of myself -- to really nourish my mind and body -- it positively impacted my mood, my job, my relationships, my weight, and so much more.
Ending my struggle to lose weight means I understand what my body needs, and I adapt what I eat to fit my life -- I also have two young kids, I’m married, I’m a teacher, and I own a business. So, if it’s not easy, it’s not happening.
Ending my struggle to lose weight has meant that I don’t live in fear of gaining my weight back. I’ve lost nearly 60 pounds and kept it off for three years. I trust the process I’ve used to lose weight -- and the tools I use are now just how I live.
Ending my struggle to lose weight also means that I'm finally free from the constant focus of food and my body. Let's be real -- obsessing about food takes up our time and energy.
What could you do with the time that was freed up from the constant focus on your body?
It’s part of why I’m so passionate about sharing what I’ve learned with others.
Are you ready to end your struggle, and to lose weight and keep it off?
I’d love to help.

I've lost over 50 pounds, and for the first time in my life, I've maintained this loss for almost a year.  The tools Rubina provided are game-changers when it comes to losing and keeping off unwanted pounds.  I can hardly believe that I can have foods in my house which I used to think of as "dangerous," but now can enjoy without feeling tempted to overindulge.   My relationship with food is finally healthy and nurturing instead of self-destructive and self-sabotaging. I  feel better now in my mid-50s than I ever felt in my 40s.

Before working with Rubina, I judged myself harshly for overeating. I was caught up in all or nothing thinking and operated from so many strict diet rules. Rubina taught me to question my thinking and look at patterns without feeling shame. Once I  was able to do that more and more, I began learning from my mistakes. Whether the scale was  up or down, I learned to value my weight loss efforts and how I showed up for myself each day rather than being validated or invalidated by the number on the scale.

I don’t feel like I’m dieting or missing out. I feel more at peace around food, and I’m not as hard on myself.
